They had me at “outdoor recreation” — but the unique framework of not forcing an English major to take math and bio (and vice versa) but rather cultivating an interdisciplinary approach to major and minor(s) is truly innovative and unique. A wonderful opportunity for students who don’t want to be caged indoors while studying.

The Demographics: 800 total students. High population of vulnerable, first-generation, and Pell-eligible students. 20% come from the TX/OK/MO tri-state area, and 30% are international.
The Outdoor Draw: Surrounded by creeks and mountains, the student culture revolves around kayaking, canoeing, and mountain biking. (D3 Athletics).
Industry Certifications Built-In: To protect the arts and humanities, Ozarks requires a “Major + 2 Minors in different lenses” framework. To ensure a 95% professional success rate, students complete actual industry-recognized certifications (like Apple or cybersecurity certificates) right inside their standard coursework.
The Jones Learning Center: Partnered with Apple, providing a Mac Neo ecosystem to every incoming student.
