Stop staring at the blank page!
The college application process doesn't begin and end with the essay.
“We see the brightness of a new page where everything yet can happen.” — Rainer Maria Rilke
A blinking cursor on a fresh blank page can be intimidating for even the most seasoned writers. ESSAY CURE helps students face and embrace the blank page.
1. Why us, why now
The problem with the college application essay is that it’s not the first step; in our process, it’s the 10th step. We started this page to help students work their way through the college application process in a more efficient way that maintains the focus on the student’s end goals.
2. Students don’t know what they don’t know
While advice from parents, peers, and/or high school counselors can be valuable, there is no one-size-fits-all college sweatshirt. What works for students in the halls of your high school might not be the best path for you — but how do you know? We invite students to think outside the box to leverage their unique strengths and situations to build their best path forward.
3. We are independent education consultants
We realize that not all students have access to an independent education consultant, let alone the resources to pay fees ranging from $4,000 to 20,000. We intend to provide students with an entry-level place where they can roll up their sleeves and get started down the path of finding their way, regardless of geographical or financial limitations.
Yes, we have a “free” option for students! The basic steps will point you in the right direction. However, even our entry-level paid subscriber options are designed to work with student salaries. These options start at just $7/month or $70 for a year — a cost even a high school junior should be able to earn in order to gain full access to in-depth directions to find their way after high school into the adult life they choose.
4. We’re doing good work, & we want to help
ESSAY CURE's Christine Gacharná was named the 2023 Home-based Business of the Year by the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce. She is scheduled to complete her College & Career Counseling certification through the University of California - Berkeley in 2024. ESSAY CURE will add additional options to support graduate & professional students as well as undergraduates and transfer students.
In her acceptance speech, Christine thanked the Loudoun Chamber and local business owners who are helping to get the word out about how she is reaching and helping students.
